How eggs work

Every coin launched on Henpad lays an egg once a day: SOL from the coin's own bank goes to one holder. The chance is the share of the coin you held all day. Holding is the only way to take part. Free, just hold.

One day

  1. Six looks. The pad's attestor reads every holder's balance six times: at the start of the day, at four hidden times, and at the end. Your weight is the lowest of the six. Buying before a look and selling after it adds nothing.
  2. The hidden times come from a hash chain the attestor committed on chain before the day began. They are revealed only when the day is posted, so nobody can trade around them in advance.
  3. The post. After the day ends, the attestor signs a merkle root of every coin's holders and weights and posts it. The raw balances of all six looks are published with it. A guardian rebuilds the root from them and can veto the day inside 2 hours.
  4. The random value. Once the day is final, anyone asks ORAO VRF for randomness. The seed binds the posted root and a fresh slot hash, so the value does not exist before the holder list is fixed.
  5. The pick. For each coin the value picks a point on a line where every holder has a slice as wide as their weight. The holder under the point gets the egg. The same value decides if the egg is golden.
  6. The payout. Anyone can push the egg to the winner with a merkle proof; the SOL can only go to the proven wallet. An egg not delivered within 30 days goes back to the bank.

The bank

  • Each coin has its own bank inside its program account. It fills from the dev's starting bank at launch, from 0.8% of every trade made through the pad's trade box, from gifts, and, if the dev opts in, from a share of the pump.fun creator fee.
  • An egg is 3% of the free bank. A golden egg is 10x that, capped at 40% of the bank. Below 0.002 SOL there is no egg that day and the bank keeps growing.
  • Bank SOL leaves only as an egg to a proven holder. Nobody, including the pad, can withdraw it.

Numbers

Trust points

  • The attestor decides the holder list and weights. It cannot set amounts or see the random value before the list is final, but it could inflate a wallet's weight. The raw balances are published and the guardian rebuilds the root, which catches a root that does not match the published data. It does not catch made-up balances that are consistent with themselves. The guardian can switch the attestor off.
  • The guardian alone can only veto a day (no eggs that day, banks keep growing).
  • ORAO runs the randomness. Its operator could withhold a value: then the day is skipped, with no second request.
  • Pool, bonding curve, the pad's treasury and any program-owned account never take part. Only plain wallets can receive an egg.
  • A winner who sold after the day still gets the egg: they held it all day.
  • pump.fun, PumpSwap and ORAO are upgradeable programs run by their teams.
  • Program loading. Changes to the pad's numbers wait 24 hours and apply only to new coins and future days.
